The Self-Harmony of the Bible - 1 (Part Nine)

How Long Was the Famine?
1 Chronicles 21:11 shows that David was given the option of choosing from among various plagues against Israel, in verse 12 it (KJV) reads, "Choose either three years famine,” yet 2 Samuel 24:13 (KJV) states: "Shall seven years of famine come unto thee.So which is correct? Using the Greek Septuagint we can reasonably say that seven years is the correct figure, for in each verse the Septuagint says seven years.
How Old Was Jehoiachin When He Began to Reign?
The King James Version says that he was he was eight years old and eighteen (2 Chronicles 36:9; 2 Kings 24:8). However, Pre-Masoretic texts record the age as eighteen in both instances, so we can assume that he was eighteen when he began to reign.

How Many Stalls Did Solomon Have?
1 Kings 4:26 says that Solomon had forty thousand stalls while 2 Chronicles 9:25 says four thousand. The Septuagint has 4,000 in both places, so we can assume that Solomon had 4,000 stalls.
How Old Was Baasha When He Died?
2 Kings 8:26 states that Baasha died in the 26th year of Asa, but 2 Chronicles 16:1 says that it was his 36th.8 One can see how easily the error entered the text.
